Colombia Pump Station

Now that I’ve got a scanner. Here is an old photo from the helicopter (not taken by me though). It is from around 1994 when I was living in Colombia and flying around to the sites in helicopters. The pump station is, if I recall, Ecopetrol El Porvenir. The station is on the top of the mountain and we stayed in a camp at the base. The drive was quite steep. I remember one time I was sitting in the back of the minibus full of people going up the hill and the engine made a strange noise so the driver stopped and got out. Well, it was steep and the van started rolling backwards!!! down the hill which could have been deadly. And I was in the very back, no way to get out fast. But, the alert person in the passenger front seat jumped over and put on the brakes.

Photo of Mozart’s Widow Found in Bavaria

A print of the only photograph of Mozart’s widow, Constanze Weber, has been found in Germany, according to der Spiegel magazine and BBC International News. The photograph was taken in 1840 in the Bavarian town of Altoetting when she was 78. She died two years later. Mozart and Constanze had six children in their nine-year marriage, only two of whom survived childhood.

Ian at work

This is a few years old. Like about 22 years ago, me hard at work getting my hands dirty. I did the engineering of the whole skid mounted vapour recovery unit for Eagle Pump and Compressor. The unit shipped to near Ponoka where I did the commissioning also.

Well now I’m back to similar things, but 10 or more times more capacity and I don’t have to get my hands dirty ;-)

I’m not sure what’s about the glasses. I used to wear contacts, but sometimes probably my eyes were too dry.

Soccer Card

Just in time for the World Cup final. This card appeared on my desk where I used to work at Telvent a couple of years ago!
