There are some really nice photos.
She’s was an amazing artist and personality. I was reminded about her by Intlxpater I have listened to her music mostly by the Anonymous 4 for some time and my wife previously while singing with the Calgary Renaissance Singers learned some of her music.
Here is a recording on YouTube by a Czech artist Hana Blochová of KVINTERNA
And here is where you can buy a DVD of her play Opus Arte. Note you can click on the button on the screen there to play a sample or watch the YouTube version below!
We’ve had the first album for many years and listened to it zillions of times!
No diving, just a boat trip as we turned around early as the water was too rough. It doesn’t look rough in the photo but it is hard to show the roughness in a photo. The issue with the rough water is that you need to slow down so the trip can take too long.
I thought I had done a blog post about Girgian last year but I can’t find one.
Girgian finished last night after three nights of it. It if a mostly Kuwait tradition from way back that happens in the middle of Ramadan. This year for the first time we were prepared with sweets for the children.
It is where the children go house to house close friends and neighbours for sweets. The children are very cute in their traditional clothing. And if you ask them they will sing! Not too badly actually.
Here’s a video.
Thanks to Intlxptr for the post and video link.

And my wife’s favorite song from Kermit
Lastly, Grover! Extremely funny!

Fascinating!
There were thousands of these buildings during the Safavid dynasty, about the 16th century CE. They were built to collect the droppings as fertilizer for melon and cucumber fields… However, in modern times chemically produced fertilizers have drastically reduced the viability of the bird guano industry and as a result not many of these structures have survived to the present day. The droppings were also used in the process of tanning leather.

Read the comments there. Good thing they are privatising Kuwait Airways. I flew Kuwait to and from Dubai recently and both flights were delayed due to mechanical problems.
So we will not fly Kuwait Airlines again even if it costs more or isn’t as good a routing.
I have a bunch of tabs open in the browser with some interesting sites and may as well gather them here as follows:
