Let’s debate the theology of the burka

Farzana Hassan of the Calgary Herald was inspired by a phone debate on a Montreal-based radio station to investigate the theology of the burka and whether the Qur’an mandates it. He researched it and the Herald article discusses his findings. Click for the article.

I don’t have any of my own photos of burqa or hijab wearing ladies to post as I haven’t taken many! I don’t want to get arrested or beaten as you might imagine if they are that strictly interpreting their faith then they are probably quite sensitive to having photos taken of their women.

    I can understand that you don’t want to post your photos of burqa wearing ladies, I wouldn’t either. But, really, you can hardly say that it is a photo of a lady, since she is hiding behind a piece of cloth!

    You are right logically but that wouldn’t win over an upset husband! You don’t see any burqas here as in the photograph. But you do see some in all black. And if you see them driving you give a wide berth as their field of vision is very limited. I’ve heard is is not allowed to drive with a face covering but I don’t know for sure.
