If anybody actually reads this you can see that the theme is new. A screen shot of the old them is above. I’ve decided to update the theme for the blog and get away from the former dark black look. The new theme is a magazine theme called Mimbo 3.0 and is free and Open Source even with a seemingly active support forum. It gives me more options for the look of the site.

To my knowledge the old black theme Blue Moon 1.0 has not been updated by the authors for a long time and is currently part of these ubiquitous Premium Theme Clubs wanting $15 for it. And they won’t even tell me on their site which version is available now for this payment. At least on their FAQ they fully disclose that no support is given except for a forum.

How do I get support for a theme I purchased?
We currently don’t offer personal support, so please don’t email us with support issues. We have a support forum that can assist in any bugs/concerns you have. Any critical bugs reported in the forums will be added to the “bug list” and responded to in a timely manner.

I’ve been using Akismet in this WordPress blog for a long time to filter spam comments but lately I am getting several comments a day that are not filtered. And it is a total waste of time reviewing and marking them as spam. I’ve thought of implementing captchas previously but did not find any that were easy to implement. Now there is a great captcha plugin for WordPress called reCAPTCHA. Now I just need to wait and see if I ever get another genuine comment to confirm that the captchas work.
