Theodore Dalrymple Tells it Like It Is

Anthony Daniels

Here’s an article.

Actually, Theodore Dalrymple is is pen name, his real name is Anthony (A.M.) Daniels.

This is a very interesting interview with him. A must listen. I get the Ideas podcast and listen to it on my iPod while driving to work.

This is such a real look at the problems in Western society.

Maps of Kuwait

There is Google Maps of course, which has very good resolution.

And there is also this link http://gis.baladia.gov.kw/

You may need to wrestle with it to get it to go into English not Arabic. If you click on the menu dropdown on the top of the map you can even get driving directions!

I’ll update this post later with specific links to places of interest in Kuwait.

Fake Job Offer Scams for Engineers

I know of this happening also, a fake job offer scam. I don’t know what they will gain though, at least personal information plus if they are lucky some money for processing fees or insurance. The most direct information I found on it is here. And very good information at expatengineer.net also.

Too bad there is so much nonsense in the world.

Fear and Terror

The Becker-Posner Blog: Terrorism– Posner’s Comment

Car crashes kill more than terrorism, but where is the fear. Also, another example, say there is a plane crash, well that suddenly does not make flyign more dangerous, just people more scared.
