  • Dusty Rain

Sounds like the name of a country and western song?

The car gets washed regularly and I don’t always park it under the sun shelter. So waking up this morning I got the following. I don’t know if it rains dust or the dust is picked up as the rain falls, or the dust is on the car and gets blotchy from the few rain drops.

  • Higher ceilings promote creativity

I like high ceilings. I would rather have a high ceiling than a larger floor space — within reason. In Europe they tend to have higher ceilings and smaller rooms in the older buildings. At least that is my experience in Austria.

  • Google Search Going Downhill – Shrimp Gobis

I saw lots of shrimp and their symbiotic companions, the shrimp gobis while diving.

So on search Google or Yahoo for shrimp gobies.

I’ve been trying Yahoo more these days on searching, sometimes I get much better results. It seems Google has too many shopping oriented results often.

I’m not finding a photograph online of a gobie (or goby) like the ones here. I think a blotchy shrimpgoby (Amblyeleotris periophthalma). This is from the book, The Coral and Coral Reef Fishes of Kuwait.

  • Holographic disk drives

Wow! Reading the new issue of Popular Science, there are now on the market by Maxell 300 GB disks meant for professional archiving. And they expect by 2010 to have 1.6 TB (that’s about 350 DVDs worth) drives. And they write data to the disks about 30 times faster than DVDs also.

The data is stored in 3 dimensions in a special gel that they say should last 50 years.

At C Net here’s more information or just search Google for more.

Wait, this is even better, go to Maxell from one of these links as I see the link in the C-Net article is broken.
