Turmeric has been known for a long time for its health and cleansing benefits. Before an Indian wedding ceremony there is a festive event called the Haldi Ceremony where the groom (and “innocent” bystanders) get a rubdown with turmeric paste mixed with water while dancing and having a lot of fun.
